Our History

Ron Atkinson Construction and Development is the evolution of a family business started by his father John Atkinson, then known as RDJ, Inc. In 1980, John moved the corporation from Oregon to Wyoming to meet a high demand for qualified builders. As demand returned to the Roseburg area, in 1985 both John and Ron returned home to form a new corporation, Atkinson & Atkinson, Inc.

Now specializing in both Commercial and Residential Development, they continued on to build Post Offices in 6 states, numerous construction and remodeling jobs for the US Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Medical Services, School Districts, and the City of Roseburg. Naturally, they continued building custom homes and their work was complimented by several apartment buildings and condominiums in the area.

In 1999 John Atkinson retired and Ron formed a new corporation, Ron Atkinson Construction and Development, Inc., retaining the same team built by him and his father. The corporation quickly gained a reputation for Ron’s extensive experience, ability to meet a schedule and budget, and an attention to detail along with the fine craftsmen that had made their mark over the many years working with Atkinson & Atkinson.

Over the years since, Ron has embarked on many projects from Home Remodels, Commercial Buildings, Apartment Complexes, and Luxury Homes. He’s also built an excellent name with the City of Roseburg, Douglas County, Umpqua Community College, and several other organizations he’s worked with over the years.

Within one of the many homes built by Ron, his Father (John) and Mother live overlooking the Roseburg Valley. Another house on the same hill is where Ron and his family call home, surrounded by a small man-made stream with waterfalls. He believes in his work and delivers the highest quality. Today Ron Atkinson and his team continue the tradition as the premiere builder of customer homes in the area.
